History: We don't knoooooow!! He is the most mysterious character on the entire series! He could be the killer!!! ...Or... not. I think he's on the side of good. It was, after all, not long ago that the mysterious meteorite fell from the sky, endowing the nameless fellow at Jusenkyo with S-U-P-E-R P-O-W-E-R-S!!1!!!1 and transforming him into JUSENKYO GUY! ...Oh wait. This is about the Jusenkyo GUIDE. Well, I think most of what I just said can be salvaged... Personality: The Guide is a pretty affable fella, mostly. He is well-educated on the subject of the Jusenkyo springs, and can tell the darn things apart somehow, at a simple glance; he even carries signs around about them. He seems to sympathize with people when they fall into the springs, although it doesn't seem like the most sincere sympathy ever - but hey, it probably happens a lot (considering how many Jusenkyo curse victims there are) and the Guide can't be helped if he's just started to think everyone is a bit on the dumb side for it. I mean, they kind of are. However, the Guide is always polite and well-meaning, even though he takes just a little too long to warn people about the springs... Final Analysis: I don't have hardly anything to say here. So instead I'll tell you something interesting about the Jusenkyo Guide: he has his own life. Weird, huh? You'd think that a background character in a series like this would exist only when the creator needed him, like an object, to pop out and say "Very bad you fall in spring!" Nope. Fella has a daughter, and I hear he likes to party on Thursday nights when the buffalo wings are only a quarter apiece. Well, the part about the daughter is true, anyway. And I like to think the rest is, too. I also have a secret theory that the Guide likes having people take on these curses, and deliberately waits just a tiny bit too long to give them the most pertinent information. Of course, when people start abusing the springs' curse in the final arc of the series... that is going too far... |
