History:

Kasumi is the oldest of the Tendo sisters, and thus has the strongest memories of their mother. Their bond was shared through the household, and at a very early age Kasumi watched her mother and learned how to cook and take care of their family. When their mother died, Kasumi was still quite young, only about six or seven; she stepped into the role of mother figure, and devoted her time and energy to keeping the household running and keeping her family happy.

Kasumi stepped into the role of mother not only in terms of cleaning and chores, but also emotionally. She quickly began to think of herself as a young woman instead of a girl, and put childhood behind her in exchange for a sunny outlook and a responsibility for the neatness of the family - both inside and out. She would take Akane to task for fighting with boys when she was in middle school and Akane only in grade school; she involved herself in the community, and is a rather popular figure; she also supports her father and his decisions, but will put in a word when she disagrees (which is not especially often). One time she firmly objects is when Soun announces that his friend Genma is bringing his son, and that one of his daughters will be marrying the boy; of course, in keeping with Kasumi's odd bright attitude of maturity, her main concern is that she has no interest in younger men.
