An Extremely Opinion-Oriented Episode Guide
Welcome to "Just Another Ranma 1/2 Page"'s Episode Guide. The term "episode guide" can mean a number of things, from a quick listing of episodes by production number and/or airdate, to a series of loglines, to a massively-detailed web resource.
Guess which one I'm aiming for. *G*
That's right; these episode guide pages are not going to be simple one-line deals, or even one-paragraph. Instead they take an in-depth look at each episode; they're less for people who haven't seen the eps or have only seen them in glancing and more for people who, like me, enjoy thinking and discussing and looking back over the episodes once they've seen them. To say "Spoilers!" is an understatement. *G* Naturally this will be fairly slow-going, but it's my hope that each new ep review will be interesting and thorough enough to hold everyone's interest for a while!
What to expect in every review:
1. A general summary
2. A comparison between the anime and the manga (when applicable)
3. Reviews of the dub acting, animation, translation, and general plot
4. Text and explanations to things that are referenced (when I can find them) - such as Kuno's poetry, and so on
5. General silliness and snark in the "comments" section, which are little notes I make as I watch the eps.
6. Screencap galleries (slow going - yes, even slower than the reviews - but I have 'em up so far for eps 1-4, and 10)
But first a word of warning:
These ep guides are not especially unbiased. I have seen and read a good deal of "Ranma 1/2" over the years and I've developed a love of certain characters, and opinions on various aspects of the show; I make them pretty clear in the course of my reviews. One is that I want to bear Ryouga's children realllllly like Ryouga; another is that I reaallllllly like Akane; a third is that, although I am not rabid about any of the pairings in this series, I have certain ones I like and certain ones that just don't interest me. I see Ranma/Akane all over the place. *G* All of which is a lengthy way of saying "the viewpoints expressed in these reviews are only my own and are not neccessarily endorsed by Viz, Rumiko Takahashi, or R1/2 fandom at large" and "if you don't agree please don't flame me", though after all these years of Ranma I kinda doubt that's coming back. ^_~
