• Title Origin: Oh, as basic as you can get, really. I'm horrible with titles. "Missed Chances" is dull, dull, dull and I am not satisfied with it, but on the other hand it pretty well sums up the entire story. ;)

• The Subtext Issue: And here we are again, with another sad alt fic that tries and fails to balance out the Xena/Gabrielle/Joxer triangle. If you're reading this, I'm sort of assuming you've read the fic and gotten to the ending. So if you didn't, be prepared, I'm gonna give it away later in here. ;) As for why I wrote this, well, when I thought about it I could totally see Xena as being in love with Gab. I could even easily pinpoint it, if I wanted to, to ACOE or episodes in that time frame. So in that regard it made total sense to me. And in all honesty, I saw more evidence that Xena had the hots for Gab than I did vice versa. ;)
  
• I will say, and I do mean this as far from bragging as I can but you probably won't believe me, that I have been told I write good alt stories. Of course they're not particularly HAPPY ones, but I'm told this by Joxer fans and GJRs who usually don't see Xena and Gab as lovers on the show, but tell me that I write them that way in a very natural manner. I am pleased by this compliment. ^_^
  
• Random Info You'll Never Do Anything With: Okay. So did you think it was Joxer? *g* Eh, if you didn't, it's okay - I think about half of the people who have read it thought it was him, and half of them got suspicious by my tricky ways of never pinning anything down and figured out that it was Xena. Since I read everything with that suspiciousness I sort of expected it from others. ;) Anyway, once again, what possessed me to write another alt fic? Well, I think I mostly got to thinking about Xena and Joxer, and the similarities between them, and how I could write a really tricky little story in one sitting. Which I then did. ;)
  
• When you get down to it, the similarities are many. I mean, two brothers, now estranged; quest to prove themselves; devotion to the bard; etc etc. I pretty much spell it out in the story. ^_~ My intent wasn't to say that Joxer was better for Gab than Xena was (though actually I do think that, heh) in the course of the story, but to just get the little poke at the end. It's a "gotcha" story, mainly. I don't even take it all the seriously but I like rereading it. ^_~
  
• The thing I have to wonder about with myself is, what is it with me and sad alt fics? How is it that in the course of six months I wrote two of 'em? Sheeeeesh. *g*
