What if, after the death of her son, Xena had handled her situation with Gabrielle differently? This is an alt-fic, in other words, Xena and Gabrielle express romantic feelings for each other in the course of it; it's mainly melodrama though, not really romance, and of course I managed to stick in a Gab/Joxer element to it, too. ;P
