• Title Origins: Lyric challenges make it easy to think of a title. ^_~ Though in this case, it was a bit of a struggle to get it to relate exactly to the situation - "parting" works fine, but there are no glasses anywhere in the fic. Still, it does sort of relate a bit to "parting glance", which has a rather nice meaning.

• Random Info You'll Never Do Anything With: I think this is the only Xena story I've ever written that doesn't have Joxer in it anywhere. Go figure. ;) I do like this story, even though as I've said, I deny that the entire Twilight arc and everything after it ever happened. Still, even mass hallucinations can get a good fic out of them. *G* Mostly, I wanted to try something different with the lyrics I was given, and relating them to Ares instead of to Xena and Gab, or Joxer, was definitely different from my first impulse.
  
• You may notice that I mention that Ares still has his god powers in this even though he doesn't have his immortality. Well, a) I never watched the end of Motherhood because I got so disgusted with it midway through that I turned it off, and b) they never even officially said whether he'd lost his god powers anyway until Coming Home in season six. The two are separate, as proven by Callisto's becoming immortal first and then a god; I played around with which way to go and then decided that it made more sense for him to have given up his immortality to heal Gab and Eve, 'cause where would his godhood have gone? And then the show proved me wrong. I still say my way makes more sense. ^_~
