  • Haiku disclaimer:
    These folk are not mine.
    I cannot afford lawsuits.
    I am just a fan.
  • Title Origins: Well, obviously the origin is from the song. I always wished I could come up with a better one, though. I mean, there just was no way to match that title up to the story as I wrote it.
  • Random Info You'll Never Do Anything With: This story took me an eternity to get done. I adore this song, and these lyrics are great, but I just couldn't think of a plot that wasn't a cliche. In the end I actually even went with a cliche - just an internal monologue from three different points of view. I've always been dissatisfied with it from that standpoint - no real *point* in writing it. So anyway, I think I combined like three or four ideas in one to finally get this finished up, and it *feels* like a bit of a mishmash.
  • One thing I did realize while writing this story was that I enjoy writing for season five Xena. That maternal streak brings out her cuteness. :) I've found Xena a bit hard to relate to in most seasons, but in season five I thought she was really humanized, and I really enjoyed her for almost the first time. I also LOVED the way they deepened her bond with Joxer... I ended up liking that over the Gabrielle/Joxer stuff, practically.
  • Xena's section was the easiest for me to write. Joxer's was tricky, for the wording and direction mostly, but I got through it after a while. Gab's was killer, though. More and more I found it nearly impossible to write for the character, because more and more I couldn't sense her motivations. If I can't figure out where they're coming from, generally speaking, I have no urge to write for them. Which was really sad, because I'd enjoyed writing for Gab before, and I think some of my discomfort with the story in general springs from my unease at writing for her.
