• Episode References: Eve, sorta
• Random Info You'll Never Do Anything With: I found these lyrics exTREMEly tricky. Partly because they just are tricky, and I'm not very good at interpreting lyrics; also partly because I dislike going the "obvious" route whenever I can help it, and I didn't just want to have a "Gabrielle realizes her true feelings" fic. Not that there's anything wrong with them - I just don't think I can do them with a good enough twist on them to make 'em memorable.
  
• This story took me FOR-EV-ER to do also because I had my idea, then I'd sit down and try to write it and write maybe a sentence (and maybe not even that much) before sitting and staring at the screen. The bulk of this was written in, oh, two hours or so and while listening to my "Pure Moods 2" CD - that may or may not have significance, I dunno, but I think about half the songs on it inspire me to some extent in a Xena genre. *shrug*
  
• So just what exactly was I trying to do with this? It's a bit hard to explain exactly. I was going for something more sort of mental, sort of intellectual, sort of abstract. I wanted something different from my usual narrative, so although I took a literal approach when it came to the lyric "another woman walking in my blue jeans", I tried to do it in a way I had never done before. It ended up being very stylistic but, I hope, not gimmicky; it wasn't all that I wanted, but it was still different enough to win an award for best Uber so I guess I did good by the readers, which is always very cool. ^_^ My biggest worry was that it would be confusing, switching between the nameless "She" as the main character, and the Body/It/Gabrielle. And man, that part at the end when Gab is talking with Joxer just ended up being killer to write. Talk about tricky. :P On the other hand, I enjoyed myself with this one, and I'm still pleased with the results.
  
• When does it take place, you may ask. In my head, I guess. ;) Uhm, I stopped watching after season five but wrote it somewhere in mid-season six, so I was probably trying to fit it into what could logically be after the "end" of the series. Keeping in mind that I had no idea what that "end" would be. It no longer really jibes with the end of the series but meh, who cares. Most fanfics out there written in any given season don't jibe with what happened a year later. *G*
